On Rooting
By: Huaihsiang Wang
The being of human being, configured by form and
material, in between that of the sky and the earth, with heaviness
downward, manipulated by the spirit, fill with the Qi, nourished by the
digested nutrient of the ingested grin, the vehicle of the spirit.
What is within to stand? To stand is to counter gravity, via that of
feet, leg, skeleton so as to revert against that of gravity. What is
there to revert? For all formable in between that of the sky and that of
the earth, are subject to that of gravity. Therewith, heaviness inclines
downward, what is downward is what is heavy. What is there to revert is
the utility of the skeleton. Be straightly centered with the skeleton,
so as to attach muscle on it as if there is none. To revert one’s
spirit within, so as to be in control whilst being loose and light yet
revert against that of gravity to stand. What is there to control from
within? Be relaxed and at ease, as if there no muscular power at all.
What is there is only the appropriate reversion and connection within
each piece of bone throughout the skeleton from beneath to the top of
the head. This is what connects one’s being with that of the sky and
that of the earth. All human beings are with it, however, rarely is
there one aware of it. Therewith, one is entrapped within without
awareness of it. Think, for instance, what is the difference in between
standing on the solid ground and that of on top of the water? To stand
on top of the water, one’s body will sink. What is redundant force?
The more one strives whilst sinking, the more the redundancy. What is
there to strive is the redundant force. Till the total exhaust of the
force then will the body float on top of the fluid water. There is
redundant force whilst one is standing, yet few are aware of the being
of the redundant force within. Therewith, one is being manipulated
without awareness of it, at all.
Herewith, that of root is to start with the awareness first. Sink thy Qi
to Dan Tien(Literally, “pill field”), those able of it yield force.
Yet to quest the way, one shall probe further. Binding thy feet within,
as if there is a circle from toe to toe, revert thy Qi to the bottom of
thy feet whilst relaxing, then emerge from that of Yunchuan(the center
of one’s feet) to comeback within. Therewith, all weights are there
into the ground, whereby, there balances that of the downwards and that
of the upwards. Relaxed and easy, that of the emerging in is there
inside of the bone. Where there is connection, each piece of bone are
appropriately configured, therewith, break not, push not, deviate not.
Smoothness is there where there is less redundancy, stagnant is there
where there is redundancy. Not more, not less, the tip is at one’s
waist and that of the waist joint. The waist dominates, with relaxed
joint, enspirit with it. Revert one’s spirit then surf downward with
it, as if there is a being in between that of the waist and that of the
joint. As if steaming upward, as if whilst bathing within. Therewith,
warmish in harmony, in oneness within.
Qi flows in between that of bone, muscle and tendon, where the essence
is transformed. Where there is connection in between joints, there is
Ying and Yang. Therewith, the being of Taichi at each joint. Therefore,
the essence of connection is not that of the straightforward force. It
is that of what is circling up, via that of the left and that of the
right, through the balance of that of the Ying and that of the Yang. The
warmish harmony within is the exemplification of essence transformation.
It is what is flowing within bones and marrows, what carries with the
spirit and the will, flowing throughout the body, in oneness with that
of Qi.
