A Healthy Way to Deal with the Anthrax Scare
By: Lawrence Stepanowicz, ND
Anthrax is big in the news. Government and media
officials are being targeted as victims and people handling their
mail, effected. A few have died.
A lot of people are running scared. And running to their doctor for a
prescriptions for Cipro, which they see as a "magic bullet"
against the disease.
That's dangerous.
Taking Cipro, even if you have been exposed to anthrax, is very risky.
It's not a safe drug. Yes, it will kill the anthrax bacillus but it
can carry some serious side effects. And taking it out of fear is
foolish. It's mistaken to view Cipro as a preventative because it can
only kill the anthrax bacillus if you happen to have it. An antibiotic
is not a vaccine.
Your strongest defense against anthrax, or any disease, is a good
Baseline of Health. With all your systems functioning at their best,
your body has a better chance of beating off anything that comes its
way -- including anthrax. A good Baseline of Health optimizes your
immune system.
But aside from maintaining a good Baseline of Health, here are some
additional things you can do to combat the possibility of an anthrax
infection:
1. Take natural antibiotics to supplement your diet. Two of these are
echinacea and garlic. Both kill anthrax. For garlic, use several
cloves daily or a high quality garlic supplement. Should you start
feeling ill, up your dosage of both of these by several times.
Here's what Britain's Garlic Information Center has to say about
garlic and anthrax:
"Garlic is the only antibiotic that can actually kill infecting
bacteria and at the same time protect the body from the poisons that
are causing the infection. It is known that the most sensitive
bacterium to garlic is the deadly Bacillus anthracis which produces
the poison anthrax."
2. Start using a high quality antioxidant formula. A whey formula
that's designed to raise your glutathione levels can also be used. And
again, if you start feeling ill, up your dosage accordingly.
3. Have some colloidal silver on hand. If you feel cold or flu
symptoms coming on -- symptoms similar to anthrax -- use this in a
mister and inhale it directly into your lungs. (I personally use
colloidal silver as a nasal spray if I feel a cold coming on since the
nose is where colds begin.)
As an extra defense against cutaneous anthrax, apply colloidal silver
to any cuts or skin lesions.
Chances are you will not be exposed to anthrax, but if you're
unknowingly exposed, these measures could save your life.
