| Article: Qigong: How To Train The Energy In The Human Body - by Jeff Ernest | ||
|
In every activity, the true goal is to make us happier.
As, the wise persons say, ultimate happiness is coming to
the ultimate truth, then truth should be the goal of
everything we do. The true Qigong of the East was not created by men. The old ones whom first practiced these arts found their source in nature. They studied the ways of nature; and tried to understand the principles that guide the universe. From their study they uncovered certain principles that nature followed. Then began to search for a way to become one with these principles which gave birth to Qigong Since Qigong came from nature, it should be able to take us back to nature -- if practiced the right way. When Qigong takes us back to nature we return to our original inborn strength, health & abilityy. This power is called Prenatal Energy. The energy that nature bestows on everything in the universe. To enhance the cultivation of this force, they used standing meditation. The first writings on standing meditation go back to the Yellow Emperors Classic of Internal Medicine. When one practices standing meditation, the physical forces that operate in movement should be on vacation. This helps one feel and cultivate the inner energy, the internal force, the vital essence of the universe. The masters discovered that the forces we call Mind Energy Strength - that make up our thoughts, feelings and actions - are flowing throughout the universe. During our brief stay on this planet, we select this bag of fire, water, earth and air, we call a body, as a vehicle for our spirit - the energy of nature that makes us what we are. The natural forces of mind or thought we store in our head. Energy we store in our body and strength goes to our functions with the limbs. When we commence to practice Qigong we start Empty with scattered thought energy and strength. We train Thought, Energy, Strength in the form of mind, body and function with the help of our Spirit. By correct practice, we take our spirit to a state of Emptiness (alert aware); a state that is Mindless, Bodiless and Objectless: a state where the mind is trained to be clear and calm, so the messages of the spirit (called heart-mind which is the messenger of nature within us) can come through without the interference of our mind-created ego. How to do standing meditation?. To help us with this task the principles were handed down in poems, characters and statements. The most important of these are as follows; A. The appearance B. Alignment C. Center D. Posture E. Shape Some words on Alignment, Center and Posture "Soong" is an important point when dealing with posture, that loosely means: Relax and Sink. Soong is like sitting on a sofa. A sofa is soft and sinks in when you sit on it. Yet it is elastic and maintains its shape, returning to its original state when you stand up. When sinking into the crease, the thighs automatically spread into a natural arch. The knees are vertically above the instep and the Bubbling Well acupuncture point. The knees should not go forward beyond the toes. F. Maintain the 3 horizontal levels and the three folds of the body. G. The 14 Characters on standing meditation (The foundation of the three forms of Qigong: health and healing, meditation, martial arts ) Sser Ling ................ Be empty, active, alert Ting Ching .............. Suspend the neck with intrinsic force Haum Shian ............ Relax and depress the chest slightly Fut Pei ................... Pull up and round the back Wei Lu Ti ................ The coccyx is lifted Ting Tou Shiang ....... Suspend the head like hanging H. The 3 inner coordinations (Heart to Thought, Thought to Energy, Energy to Strength) I. The 5 essences: FORM, MIND, ENERGY, STRENGTH, SPIRIT (Mental and Physical with the help of spirit) J. 5 ways to train the inner mind Any questions? Looking for instruction?
