Article: What is Empathology? - by Bernie Day

Empathology is an integrative healing method and is based on the premise that each of us is an organism made of up an Essence, embodied for its expression and service, having a body to “act” out from.  This Essence is non-physical and undetectable as well, either through feeling or thought.  There are a myriad of names for this Essence, but some of them include Soul, Spirit, Real Self, Etc.  The embodiment of this Soul makes it possible for it (us), to interact on this physical plane.  Without a body/mind, the Essence has no means of exerting or expressing itself in this world.  In the Empathology perspective, the Essence, an aspect of the whole of the self, is what really identifies who a person is.  This perspective is considered to be one of the spiritual psychologies, as the Spirit of Self is recognized and seen as the real beingness of an individual, compared to personality being the identification of the person, in traditional psychological perspectives. The process that determines the method for the most accurate application of Empathology is applied kinesiology.  This is also termed as muscle testing.  It is used by many therapists, most notably by chiropractors, and is the exclusive tool for accessing the Real Self, employed by Empathologists.   However, the process of introspection by Self, is effective to a great degree.  But if given the chance, learning how to apply kinesiology techniques on yourself would be useful.

Empathology, Inc. offers quarterly weekend classes to train you how to do this.   It is an effective tool, unsurpassed by none, in regard to discovering the personal truth of an individual.  When properly applied by someone who is trained and is personally on their path of self-healing, this tool is phenomenal in revealing the changes needed to bring about the alignment mentioned, all directed by the Real Self of the person.  Empathology provides a way to access Essence that is flexible enough to accommodate individual differences.  The amount of work that an individual needs to do to free a certain aspect might be different from that needed by another individual and therefore a tool that can provide specificity and flexibility is needed.  Muscle testing offers these elements:  specificity and flexibility.  However, please remember, a great deal can be accomplished without using muscle testing because not everyone has the time or motivation to be trained – so don’t let this deter you.  If you are interested you can take a class – they are offered twice quarterly in various locations.    Once the truth is revealed about how to correct either a performance, behavior or health problem, other techniques are employed to take those steps.  You can also download the FREE Introductory eBook that teaches you the basic techniques at:  http://empathology.pair.com/ebooks.htm

Muscle testing is subjective, in that it can’t be quantified or measured for accuracy.  The method that Empathologists employ to determine whether or not the testing is valid is to confirm with the client verbally, what is found with the muscle testing.  Everyone has a sense of the truth about themselves, once spoken.  If there is resonance with the information revealed through testing, it is considered valid.  If not, further exploration is embarked upon.  Also, an experienced Empathologist, as well as a chiropractor, knows whether or not their testing is accurate, by how many returning clients they have—for example, happy, satisfied customers who are getting results.  Dramatic results speak for themselves and are relied heavily upon by Empathologists as proof of accurate muscle testing.

Another pivotal technique utilized by the Empathologist and by those who chose to apply empathology on themselves, are affirmations to de- and re-program the personality, reprogramming what the Empathologist refers to as the “unconscious agendas.”  These unconscious agendas are literally perceptions that a person has created about self, others, the world, and how others view them, and have recorded in their unconscious.  The “creation” process of these agendas varies but usually are the result of someone telling us something about us that we believe is true, based on it coming from someone who has control over us, either physically or emotionally.  These agendas can also be developed vicariously, viewing someone else in a predicament that we associate (identify) ourselves with and believe is true for us as well as for the other person.  An example would be a mother worrying about money and since her child is just like her, he/she will consider it normal to worry about money as well.  This childhood observation and internalization becomes the reality of the adult behaviorally, unaware of the filing of the childhood agenda many years before.  Also, some of the stored agendas originated as symbols, images and feelings but as we matured we put words to them, and for most people, agendas express themselves (make themselves known), through feelings.  These unconscious agendas however, are not often associated with what is currently happening.  The feeling(s) of an agenda may be felt consciously, but even more often, one is not even aware of the feeling consciously (repression).  Their body instead is conscious of it, acting out with pain or discomfort.  Every pain or discomfort has feelings associated with it and underlying the feeling, a negative belief.  Not feeling a negative feeling consciously does not mean that there are no consequences for the body.  Repressed “unconscious agendas” and resultant feelings are actively creating pain and/or illness within the host, with the host having no association between their negative feeling and their pain or illness.  This statement is very profound, but is the core of empathological belief.  Every tissue, organ, system in the body is operationally governed by feelings.  Negative feelings cause imbalance, leading to pain, illness and disease. Every positive feeling provides balance, integrity and health in the muscles, organs and systems of the body.  Empathology addresses pain or illness by accessing repressed unconscious agendas through the physical bodily “symptom.”

Once the “unconscious agenda” is identified, it is de- and re-programmed to remove the “cause,” thereby eliminating the symptom.  This has been done repeatedly by Empathologists and therefore the empathological belief that every pain, illness or disease is the result of negative feelings, is confirmed.  Again, it is important to remember that it is not the goal of Empathology to get rid of our negative feelings.  The goal however, is to use the feeling to access the underlying core belief in the unconscious that is acting out its agenda, reversing it and thus removing the reason for the negative feeling.  Feelings are strictly messengers of imbalance attempting to communicate at the conscious level the belief systems help in the unconscious that are harmful to the organism.  Our feelings are our teachers that will lead us to knowing the unconscious agendas that block our access to Self.    The perceptions logged into as “tapes” in the unconscious, known by Empathologists as unconscious agendas, have been stored there for a very good reason.  They are there for protection of the vehicle of service by directing the individual to avoid dangerous experiences in the present that are similar to a past dangerous experience.  They are also there to reduce stress by being always available to recall for a blueprint of a past experience to provide a plan of action for the organism, in a similar situation in the present.  This is how we can unconsciously do a task without thinking.  We are literally on automatic pilot.  This is fine as long as our “tapes” serve the highest good of our Real Self.  Most people have filed away many thousands of beliefs that take them away from identifying with who they really are.

Another aspect of Empathology is, is that it works very quickly.  Utilizing applied kinesiology is what makes the identification process immediate and application of specific affirmations, quickly makes the change within the person (3 weeks).   Psychoanalysis theory believes that the repression of the original situation and the emotions belonging to it, can only come to the surface after years of analysis.  Empathology quickly accesses the repressed memory, opens it up, questions it, acknowledges it consciously, de-programs the belief developed out the experience, and replaces it with a belief that is in alignment with the Real Self, all directed through applied kinesiology, by the Real Self.  Any one issue is often taken care of within one session.

In conclusion, Empathology is a natural, integrative, body/mind healing practice that trusts the wisdom of the individual’s Real Self to self-direct its healing process.  The Empathologist is only a mentor, assisting an individual in the exploration and application of what is learned from within the person.  Empathololgy is not a diagnostic tool or a method to assert power over others.  It is spiritual and a wondrous tool for insightfulness.
