The number of natural acne treatments has risen ten fold over the past couple of years. However, does one really need an acne treatment to prevent or treat acne? The answer to this question is both yes and no.

For instance, the frequency and the amount of acne that occurs depends on the individuals skin type. People with excessively oily or dry skin tend to experience the breakout of acne more frequently and more severely. The primary reason for this is that the excessive amount of oil or shedding skin cells from dry skin clog the skin pores allowing oil and bacteria to accumulate and cause acne lesions.

One way to resolve the issue with oily skin is to make sure you wash your face or body frequently; at least twice a day. One piece of advice here is to make sure you don't use harsh soaps which will completely strip your skin of all natural oil, instead use soaps containing a bit of moisturizer so that the skin does not dry out.

The other thing you should consider is adding moderate amount of cardiovascular exercise which will allow your body to sweat and open up the clogged pores. As the pores open regularly they will naturally remove bacteria and dead skin cells and will help prevent acne.

Of course no natural acne remedy will be compete without modification to your diet. Simply try cutting back on excessively fatty foods which include; fried foods, burgers, fries, etc. and add more fruits to your diet. Fruits contain many of the vitamins and minerals which your body needs to fight any kind of disease. For instance, vitamin A and Vitamin B6 have been proven to fight acne. Other minerals such as Zinc are also very vital in helping your body function properly.

Despite your best efforts, there comes a time when you may need to seek natural acne treatments to help your body fight acne. My recommendation is that you try all natural herbal treatments before resorting to any harsh treatments such as Accutane or Benzoyl peroxide.

Please note that although most natural acne treatments sold on the market are safe and do not require a prescription, you should always speak with a health care professional before using any natural acne treatment.
