One of the newer concepts for aerobic exercise is Ball
Drumming or Aerobic Drumming.
It combines rhythm with active movement to keep the muscles working and the mind
clear. People of all ages and workout levels enjoy this. Some have said, “You
get excited the second the music comes on.”
Aerobic drumming began in Germany.
The original program was named “Drums Alive”. A completely new concept, aerobic
drumming combines the dynamic movements of aerobic dance with the pulsating
rhythms of the drum. When you think about it though, Native Americans have done
a form of aerobic drumming for centuries. A great combination of mental and
cardiovascular exercise!
People of all ages and workout levels can enjoy aerobic drumming.
The focus is on keeping the beat while concentrating on coordinating your hands
and drumsticks and at the same time lunging with cardio moves. This format gives
you a leg and tummy workout as well as a mental workout. Drumming will:
· Burn calories
· Release tension
· Improve concentration
· Enhance motor coordination
· Provide an overall sense of well being
Music therapists are using this theory of drumming in a variety of therapeutic
settings and for help in the restoration of motor disorders and a multitude of
other health issues. Aerobic Drumming is also being used to help people with
dementia and Alzheimer’s. Considered a whole body workout it promotes focus,
concentration, relaxation and motor coordination while creating an atmosphere of
enjoyment on many levels. A great activity for your general health and
well-being!
The tools used for this new, dynamic, high-energy cardiovascular workout are
simple:

· drum sticks (large)
· one or more ball bases
· motivating, spirited music.

of this new and different cardio workout that helps you burn calories and reduce
